We are glad to announce that entries are now closed for the 2027 edition of the Joe Ushie Poetry Prize.
This year, about two hundred and thirty entries were received for the prize.
Hence, as it is in the culture of the Joe Ushie Poetry Prize, a longlist and shortlist will be released before the final list of three finalists from which a winner shall emerge.
The longlist shall be released in July; the shortlist, in September/October, and the finalists/winner in January, 2027.
Eventually, the winner of the prize will be announced and awarded on the occasion of Prof. Ushie’s birthday, being January 20, 2027.
So, we encourage our visitors, lovers of poetry and the entrants to keep in touch by visiting our website and social media channels for regular updates.
